Village of LaGrange TNR Program
We Need Your Help!
Already in La Grange there are too many stray and feral cats. Spring is quickly approaching, and the population will multiply. Unwanted litters of kittens will be born, and there simply are no homes for them.
The Village of La Grange has requested Triple R Pets to provide its residents with assistance in helping to control the feral cat population. At a resident’s request, Triple R Pets administers a TNR (trap-neuter-return) program that is the only humane, proven solution to cat overpopulation.
Triple R Pets’ TNR program in La Grange provides three options for full-service help for stray and feral cats. A resident requesting help may:
Simply pay forty dollars ($40.00) per cat and Triple R Pets will provide TNR help.
Attend a Triple R Pets’ training workshop and participate in the trapping for a reduced cost of twenty dollars ($20.00) per cat.
Attend a Triple R Pets’ training workshop and participate in the trapping, and pay no money. This assistance is dependent on the eligibility of the resident and the availability of resources and cannot be guaranteed to be available.
Priority may be given to residents who can assist in covering the veterinary costs.
Below is a list of some of the benefits of a successful TNR Program:
There will be no more unwanted litters of kittens, no more sick, suffering kittens.
Since all cats will receive vaccinations (rabies, distemper, and feline leukemia), the cats will be healthier and disease will become rare.
The total number of outside cats will decrease by natural attrition.
Howling, fighting, digging in gardens, and spraying urine will decrease and disappear. These are all nuisance behaviors caused by breeding adult cats. Our cats will no longer breed.
All cats will also receive flea and worm control lessening the threat of these parasites communicated to owned pets.
All cats in the TNR program will be microchipped and registered with Triple R Pets to assure that the cats will be safe from animal control.
Please contact Triple R Pets at 708.738.1438 for more information on TNR, to request assistance, or to volunteer.
