News Archive - Biloxi Prom

When a small group of volunteers returned to Pennsylvania last Fall, their
minds were already planning what they would do in April. What started as a
small plan to help Biloxi High School host a prom, turned into a full-scale
fundraising effort that resulted in over $18,000 in donations, a truckload of
supplies and over 500 donated prom dresses!
Dresses were sent down ahead of time and seamstresses came down to fit all
the dresses. On the big night, the girls looked wonderful! Their
fairy-godmother, the person who orchestrated the dress part ... was aptly
dressed as well:
The big event was held in a rented hall with a huge tent
outside where an incredible dinner of prime rib, shrimp and chicken was served.
The entire event was catered by volunteers.

For this graduating class, who had come to accept that there
would be no prom, since funds were being spent on rebuilding efforts, this night
was truly a dream come true. Proving that even a small group of people can
make a HUGE difference! Got an idea? Make it happen.
