Trap-Neuter-Release Program

Triple R Pets is changing some of the neighborhoods in the Chicago area as well as the Gulf Coast by controlling overpopulation in the feral and stray cat colonies. Our program is based on TNR (trap/neuter/return).

What we can do:

Humanely trap feral and stray cats
Spay/neuter surgery
Vaccinations including rabies and distemper
Clean ears for mites and all wounds
Deworm
Flea control
Microchip
Hold for recovery
Provide all transportation

Quick Facts:

8 to 10 million cats and dogs enter shelters each year
4 to 5 million cats and dogs are euthanized in shelters each year
80% of all owned cats that live inside a house, come from the streets and are
either adopted directly or they enter shelters and are then adopted.
Pet overpopulation is the main reason for millions of cats being euthanized.

If you know of a stray or feral cat colony that needs help or if you would like to volunteer to help the cats, please contact us at info@triplerpets.org or call 708.738.1438. To learn more about TNR, you can visit www.alleycatallies.org or HSUS's Feral Cat Resources.

Our TNR programs don't stop after the initial spay/neuter of a cat.

Two TalesTwo Tales, a long-haired tortoiseshell was recently retrapped at one of our colonies.  She had already been spayed  and vaccinated, but she needed further attention.  Her beautiful long hair had become so matted over the winter that it was literally peeling off her sides.  While Two Tales was anesthetized, our volunteers shaved and trimmed the thickly matted hair that was causing her such pain.  A shorter haired but much happier cat was returned to her colony after recovery.
